24 HR Emergency Room Opens New Facility in Sugar Land, TX Grand Opening Event Provides Free Flu Shots to Community, Donations Benefit Fort Bend County Women’s Center HOUSTON (November 29, 2007) – Fort Bend County residents have another choice for their emergency care with the opening of 24 Hour Emergency Room’s freestanding facility in Sugar Land, Texas. The official grand opening of the ER will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the ER, located at the southwest corner of Hwy 6 and Hwy 59. Flu shots will be provided free to those in attendance, along with free blood pressure tests and blood sugar screenings. The Sugar Land Police department will also be on hand at the event to make child identification cards. In lieu of the free flu shots, 24 Hour Emergency Room is asking the community to make a monetary donation to the Fort Bend County Women’s Center. The center helps survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children with comprehensive services that help them live violence-free, away from their batterers and abusers. Staff members from the center will be on hand to answer questions and accept donations. Free food and refreshments will be served by Boy Scout Troop 1656. Joyful Noise and Mr. & Mrs. Claus will be on hand to provide entertainment. 24 Hour Emergency Room is a freestanding facility that employs top-notch, board certified ER specialists who provide fast, efficient and patient-friendly service to those in need of immediate medical attention. All 24 Hour Emergency Rooms include onsite imaging services, including Diagnostic X-ray, CT scanning and Ultrasound. A Clinical Laboratory Accreditation and Education (CLIA/COLA) accredited laboratory is also operated on site to provide ER lab results within 15 minutes. Although approximately 90 percent of emergency medical visits are resolved in the ER, in the instance a patient needs additional care or admittance to a hospital, 24 Hour Emergency Room maintains good relationships with hospitals and physicians in the area to ensure a smooth transfer. This is the second freestanding emergency room 24 Hour Emergency Room has opened in the Houston area. The first 24 Hour Emergency Room opened in Tomball, TX.
